Lemongrass Turmeric Soap With Calendula

I like variety so I generally make soaps one bar at a time, each one with unique ingredients. The lavender used here makes the lemongrass scent slightly floral.



Lemongrass Turmeric Soap With Calendula

glass measuring cup

digital scale

soap mold (4 oz)

2 oz honey melt & pour base

2 oz shea butter melt & pour base

1 teaspoon dried calendula

.1 oz turmeric powder

.1 oz gold shimmer block(optional)

10 drops lemongrass essential oil

5 drops ginkgo extract

4 drops lavender essential oil


Melt honey soap in the microwave 10 seconds at a time, add calendula petals and mix, then add 5 drops lemongrass and 2 drops lavender essential oil. Stir and pour into your soap mold, spray with alcohol and move to fridgerator carefully.

Melt shea soap in microwave 10 seconds at a time, add turmeric powder and gold shimmer and mix well. Add 5 drops of lemongrass and two drops of lavender essential oil. Add 5 drops ginkgo extract and mix. Remove honey calendula layer from fridge and spray with alcohol, pour shea turmeric layer on top, spray with alcohol. Let sit until cooled and hardened before removing from mold.
